The Way of St. James: History and Culture

The Way of St. James is a historical and cultural reality that continues to this day. After the discovery in the 9th century of what was believed to be the burial site of the apostle St. James, Santiago de Compostela has become a major Christian pilgrimage destination. The paths leading to the city have given rise to a cultural landscape filled with unique architecture, settlements, traditions, and artistic expressions, all forming an important legacy that must be understood and passed on.
