Living is Easy with Eyes Closed (Vivir es fácil con los ojos cerrados)
Beyond Babel 2022 starts on Monday 6 June with Vivir es fácil con los ojos cerrados (Living is Easy with Eyes Closed) directed by David Trueba in 2013. Set in Spain in 1996, this road movie follows a teacher (Javier Cámara) who uses the Beatles songs to teach English. Hearing that John Lennon is in Almería shooting Richard Lester’s How I Won the War, he decides to meet him. During this trip, he meets a 16-year-old boy (Francesc Colomer) and a young 20-year old young woman (Natalia Molina) who are both escaping from different problems. This journey will bring them together and change them.
The screening will be accompanied by an introduction by Dr Carmen Herrero + Q&A.
