This road movie visits different living alternatives in France and Spain of people looking for ways of living respectfully with the earth and the people living on it.
You can learn from people living in the eco-town Matavenero (Leon), auto-organised towns in Huesca, urban community gardening in Madrid, or ecological farming in Cantabria and Barcelona. It also talks and reflects about permaculture, bioconstruction, agroecology and the degrowth theory interviewing, among others, to the associate professor of political science Carlos Taibo, the journalists Esther Vivas and Herve Kempf, the activists Yayo Herrero and Enric Duran and the politician Florent Marcellesi.
This film alerts about the needs of changing our habits to fit in a planet of finite resources, and ask us the question “Can we live happily reducing drastically our necessities?”
After the screening, the Instituto Cervantes in Manchester will hold a debate about all these topics after the screening with the presence of Debbie Clarke, from the Unicorn grocery cooperative, and Helen Woodcock, co-founder and coordinator of The Kindling Trust.
