Instituto Cervantes Manchester and Leeds Poetry's Club continue in October reading the Spanish poet Manuel Altolaguirre, another prominent figure of the Generation of '27. Poet, printer and film producer who from a very young age worked in the publishing sector, taking part in literary magazines such as Ambos, Litoral, Poesía or Caballo verde para la poesía. In the mid-1930s, together with his wife, the poet Concha Méndez, he settled in London and worked on the bilingual magazine 1616. Exiled in Mexico after the Spanish Civil War, he continued to develop his poetry along with his publishing work.
