Pepe Rivero Trio: Los Boleros de Chopin and Monk & The Cuban Rumba

The pianist and composer Pepe Rivero is part of the “New generation” of Cuban musicians who had their breakthrough in the international jazz scene. After finishing his classical piano studies in Havana he decided to devote himself to jazz. He toured with various Cuban jazz bands.

He is the current musical director of the first Latin Jazz Festival in Spain, called “CLAZZ”, which started in February of 2011 and it is considered the first European Latin Jazz Festival.

Rivero joins Manchester Jazz Festival to introduce his two latest albums, Los Boleros de Chopin and Monk & The Cuban Rumba, "a tribute to two great pianists and composers", as Rivero has said.
