Gorka Benitez Trio: Gasteiz

Gorka Benitez is a musician from the Basque scene (Bilbao, 1966). He has played alongside Steve Cardenas, Jorge Rossy, Horacio “El Negro” Hernandez, Phil Woods, Ben Monder, Martirio, Omara Portuondo, Paco Ibáñez, Chicuelo, Ruper Ordorika, Fermín and Javier Muguruza, among many, many other great musicians.

Jazz lovers are aware that going to a Gorka Benítez concert is a safe bet. The Basque sax player is one of the strongest elements in the Spanish jazz scene. And he, aware of his own good form, is never afraid of climbing new steps.

Gorka Benitez comes to Manchester with his trio band (Dani Pérez - guitar; David Xirgu - drums and Gorka Benitez himself, saxophone and flaute), and they will perform the album Gasteiz, which was recorded live at the festival of Alava.
