The Teacher Who Promised the Sea
Ariadna discovers that her grandfather has been searching for the remains of his father, who disappeared during the Spanish Civil War. Determined to help him, she travels to Burgos, where a mass grave is being exhumed and where he may be buried. During her stay, she learns about the story of Antoni Benaiges, a young teacher from Tarragona who, before the war, was her grandfather's teacher. Through an innovative teaching method, Antoni inspired his students and made them a promise: to take them to see the sea.
After the screening, director Patricia Font will be in conversation with Santiago Fouz, Professor at Durham University.
The screening is part of Durham University's Global Week.
