Muere, monstruo muere
When addressing sensitive social issues, it's important to be clear about where the voice is coming from and how the image and meaning of the work are constructed to avoid sending a contradictory message. Muere, monstruo, muere is a strong example of a well-executed feminist film. Director Alejandro Fadel draws on the fantastical potential of the Cuyo region, where he’s from, to explore the issue of patriarchal violence rooted in our society. The result is a film of great visual impact, beauty, and depth.
Synopsis: Cruz, a rural police officer, is assigned to investigate the murder of a woman whose dismembered body has been found in the Andes mountains. David, the husband of the officer’s lover, becomes the prime suspect, but he blames everything on a monster that he claims has appeared to him.
