Sexsil
Sexil/Sexilio, a medium-length film by Cuban director Lázaro González, is a
film conceived as an archive of the Cuban queer memory in the diaspora. Drawing
on oral history and analyzing cultural texts, the documentary aims to shed
light on the stories of several “marielitos” who were forced to leave Cuba in
1980, during the so-called Mariel crisis, as dissidents of the heterocentric
order prevailing on the island. Following the screening, there will be a discussion
with the audience.
