Aphrodite

Agreements, contracts with the museum and highlighting the role of the institution in the world of art and artists are recurring themes throughout Núria Güell's work. Afrodita is a double-screen work. On one side, Güell reads the text in which she asks the museum to allocate the money for the production of the work to the payment of her social security contributions for seven months, the minimum required to be eligible for maternity leave benefits. On the other side, we see the audience seated, many of whom are people linked to the institution itself, to political circles and to the press.
