The Queen of Spanish Noir

The Queen of Spanish Noir Festival de Literatura de Oxford

One of Spain’s most exciting contemporary authors, Dr Rosa Ribas, talks about the darker side of life under the burning Spanish sun.Ribas was born in Prat del Llobregat, outside Barcelona, and has a large following for her detective fiction, often set in the city. In Far, she tells the unsettling story of community tensions and a mysterious death on a luxury housing development that was never finished because of the financial crisis.

‘Far is a dark, satirical and very Spanish story with echoes of Claudia Piñeiro and J G Ballard.’ The Guardian.

Here she talks to her editor, Richard Village.Part of Voices of Europe and of the festival’s programme of Spanish and Latin American literature and culture.
