Festival of Spanish Theatre: Crickets and fireflies

The World is full of opposites, black and white, light and shadow, day and night.
What happens when the night awakes? Light changes, colours change, but the world does not disappear. There are other lights and other sounds which are not found during the day, and there are dreams which envelop us when we sleep. A fabulous world full of truth and mystery. “We travel through the dark night with our eyes closed. Don’t be afraid if you get lost. Mr Sleep will take care of you and will show you the way”
“Crickets and fireflies” refers to the lights and sounds of the night and it is a theatrical drawing, a poetical game between a man and a woman; it is dedicated to the youngest, to their amazement and the way they hold their breath when we travel with them through the darkness.

La Machina Teatro has put together more than 30 productions since 1991. With these shows, La Machina Teatro has travelled around Spain and has taken part in the most important theatre festivals in the country, and has been on tour in all the regions of Spain. La Machina Teatro has also had an important part in the international scene, presenting its shows in festivals in Brazil, US, Portugal, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Italy and Guinea Equatorial.
