Abriendo ventanas (Opening Windows)
Oscar BaigesWithin the incessant work of director Vicky Calavia, the use of the documentary to go beyond its informative confession and work towards memory and knowledge finds in Abriendo ventanas an invaluable approach to the history of women who transgress their socially attributed places. The interview format is accompanied by a staging that exemplifies much of the courage and the vicissitudes, many of them terrible, that these women have had to go through in their lives.
Synopsis: A story in seven voices, in which seven LTBIQ women make visible their affective-sexual and gender diversity through their experiences, halfway between drama and humour, tenderness and reality, not always easy in their daily lives. A story of emotions, desires and affections, which transits from the binary - black and white - to colour to the plurality of options and choices, of ways of being and being in the world, through the relationship with one's own body and gender.
