Mass tourism: will Barcelona and the Canary Islands survive?
Mass tourism in Spain has a dual impact. We will analyse two sides of the same coin, on the one hand the impact that tourism has on the economy, especially in coastal regions and historic cities. On the other hand, the role it plays in cultural exchange and the preservation of cultural heritage. We will also reflect on the negative effects of this activity, such as infrastructure saturation, environmental degradation and possible loss of identity. Can we find a balance?
