Eduardo Mendoza
This month we pay tribute to Eduardo Mendoza (Barcelona, 1943) with a selection of books in English and Spanish available in our library. Eduardo Mendoza is a playwright, novelist, lawyer, and translator. His works have always been highly appreciated by critics and have been a great success with the public, as is evidenced by the numerous languages into which many of his novels have been translated. He has been the recipient of numerous awards throughout his professional career, including the Planeta Prize in 2010 for Riña de gatos, the European Book Prize for Riña de gatos, in 2013, the National Culture Prize of the Generalitat de Catalunya (Catalan Government) for Riña de gatos, and the National Culture Prize of the Generalitat de Catalunya for Riña de gatos, 2013. National Culture Prize of the Generalitat de Catalunya, in 2013, the Franz Kafka Prize in 2015, the Cervantes Prize in 2016, and the Barcino International Historical Novel Award given by the City of Barcelona in 2020.
