Conspiranoicos: why do people belive in conspirocy theories? Instituto Cervantes

In this sesión of the conversation club, we will explore the psychological and social reasons that lead many people to believe in conspiracy theories. We will discuss the role of distrust of governments, media and authority figures. We will also talk about how uncertainty, fear and the need to find simple explanations influence these beliefs. We will also discuss the impact of social networks on the spread of conspiracy theories. Participants will share familiar examples and debate whether they have ever believed in any of these ideas. We will reflect on the consequences of believing in conspiracies. The objective is to promote critical thinking and understanding of the phenomenon.
