CinemaAttic: LADS. Toxic Masculinity

CinemaAttic: LADS. Toxic Masculinity CinemaAttic

In April, CinemaAttic presents ten Spanish & Latin American films seeking to expose patterns of masculinity that must be left behind, as well as alternative views on how men are dealing with manhood today. A timely programme, ever more relevant in the post-Sarah Everard days. We need new male referents, new ways of understanding masculinity and pedagogy to overcome the gender divide. The programme include films set in London, Edinburgh, Galicia, Catalonia, Philippines, Chile, Argentina or El Salvador. A particularly strong selection that includes Goya nominees and awarded (16 Decembro by Alvaro Gago, Lonely Rivers de Mauro Herce), Berlinale Silver Bear winners (The Name of the Son by Martina Matzkin), and shorts awarded at top festivals like IDFA, Clermont-Ferrand, Locarno Film Festival, HotDocs, Festival de Malaga or Mar de Plata.
