Hay Festival: Mererid Hopwood with Gianna Olinda Cadonau, Pol Guasch and Maarja Pärtna
Instituto Cervantes is collaborating with the European writers' talk at the Hay Festival, chaired by Mererid Hopwood - Welsh poet and lyricist. The authors, Maarja Pärtna from Estonia, Gianna Olinda Cadonau from Switzerland and Pol Guasch from Catalonia will discuss the threat of the climate emergency to society, landscape and minority languages, and how literature can raise ecological awareness. This event is the culmination of a two-week residency for 14 writers, will explore their collective approach to tackling climate change through language and literature, and celebrate the cultural links between Wales and the rest of Europe.
