Strange Voyage

Strange Voyage Jano (Francisco Fernández-Zarza)

A year after filming the highly successful Life Goes On (El mundo sigue), Fernán-Gómez undertook another project that demonstrated his incredible mastery in shaping stories of bold modernity.

Set in a complex territory of different genres (comedy, suspense, realism, musical), this film, released discreetly at that time, has gone down in the history of Spanish cinema as one of its most outstanding classics.

Synopsis: In a small provincial town, near the capital, live a family made up of three children: the dominant and severe Ignacia and the shy and withdrawn Paquita and Venancio. The monotony of the life of the town is only broken on Saturdays when a musical group from Madrid arrives to liven up the weekend with their songs. On a stormy Saturday, Paquita and Venancio hear noises and seek protection in their sister's room. They see someone there, but Ignacia flatly denies it.
