Víctor Andresco, director of the Instituto Cervantes in Dublin, interviews Olga Merino, a writer and journalist who witnessed the transformation of the Soviet Union as a media correspondent. Olga throws light on the resilience of human beings and her innate need to believe in something, belief in artistic endeavour. The interview pays particular attention to her latest novel, La forastera (Alfaguara, 2020).

Víctor Andresco (Madrid, 1966). Writer, translator and journalist. He has directed several Instituto Cervantes centres and is now director of the IC Dublin.

Olga Merino is a Spanish writer and columnist who witnessed the transformation of the Soviet Union as a correspondent. Her latest published novel is La forastera (Alfaguara, 2020) and Cinco inviernos will be published soon.
