Dead city

This documentary was directed by Xavier Artigas and Xapo Ortega in 2014. It is based on the subject of police corruption in Barcelona. This is a powerful documentary that portrays the impotence and frustration in the face of daily great injustices and cruelties.

In June of 2013 a group of people break into an abandoned cinema situated in the centre of Barcelona with the aim of screening a documentary. They rename the building Cinema Patricia Heras in memory of a girl that took her live two years earlier. Who was Patricia? Why did she take her live? What does Barcelona have to do with her death? This is what this documentary wants to uncover: illegal actions and the worst cases of corruption in Barcelona, the dead city.

The film received the Best Documentary Award at the Málaga Film Festival.
