Autumn Concert

Cervantes Dublin Choir is Ireland's leading Spanish-language ensemble. Affiliated with Instituto Cervantes, the choir is open to singers of all levels. All rehearsals are conducted through Spanish and all songs come from Spanish and Hispanic sources. The eclectic repertoire ranges from medieval Spanish chant to Iberian folk songs and 20th century Argentinian pop.
 
The group is directed by Dónal Kearney, a musician and educator from County Down. Dónal is co-founder of Fingal Academy of Music and co-director of the Irish Institute of Music and Song. He teaches music, performs internationally, produces numerous creative projects, and delivers workshops in choral singing, voice work and advocacy.
 
Belonging to Cervantes Dublin Choir is about celebrating Hispanic culture, looking for the challenge both musically and linguistically, using the language to dig deeper and gain a richer understanding of a fantastic musical culture.

In this autumn concert the Cervantes Dublin Choir will perform with Annalisa Monticelli, pianist, vocal and Italian coach, was born in Milazzo, Sicily. In recent years, Annalisa has been in demand as a solo artist, accompanist, chamber musician, and choral conductor. To cultivate her long-term passion for Latin-American music Annalisa is currently undertaking a Ph.D focused in Latin-American Music from the twentieth Century.

The ensemble will be also accompanied by Venezuelan tenor Luis Magallanes-Short known for his versatility and exquisite interpretations. He has an extensive experience playing chamber music in different halls in Venezuela and has enter the semi-final in the Veronica Dunne International singing competition this year.
