This conversation about literature and travel is a tribute to life and to Dublin through the works of the Spanish author Miguel Sánchez-Ostiz, Viajes alrededor de mi cuarto and Emboscaduras y resistencias.


Born in Pamplona in 1950, Miguel Sánchez-Ostiz is the author of an extensive literary work that includes novels, books of poems, travel chronicles, and biographical and literary essays. He has also published numerous journalistic articles. Among his works are the novels Los papeles del ilusionista (1982, Navarra Novel Prize), La gran ilusión (1989, Herralde Novel Prize and Euskadi Literature Prize), Las pirañas (1992), No existe tal lugar (1997, Critic’s Prize), and the prose essays and miscellaneous books La negra provincia de Flaubert (1987), Veleta de la curiosidad (1994, Café Bretón Prize), Cuaderno boliviano (2008), and Cornejas de Bucarest (2010). His work Idas y venidas (2012, Pamiela Publishing), a continuation of his previous work Vivir de buena gana, contains his journal from the years 2009 and 2010, in which his erudition and wandering humour stroll through the streets of Dublin.
