New Findings in the Atapuerca Mountain's Archeological Site

Juan Luis Arsuaga Ferreras (Madrid, 1954) has a PhD in Biology from the Complutense University of Madrid where he is also a Paleontology professor. On 8th April 1993 was the cover of Nature magazine due to his article about the discovery of the best conserved cranium in history of Humankind. He is codirector of the excavations in the Atapuerca Mountains (Burgos), Cueva del Conde (Asturias) and Pinilla del Valle (Madrid). He has written more than 80 publications for scientific journals, such as the above mentioned Nature, Science and PNAS. He has authored nine books, including both novels and popular science accounts, among them The Chosen Species (La especie elegida), The Neandertal’s Necklace (El collar del neandertal) and The Riddle of the Sphinx (El enigma de la esfinge). He has offered talks in the Universities of London, Cambridge, Zurich, Rome, Arizona, Philadelphia, Berkeley, New York y Tel Aviv.
