In Between Three Seas
With Entre tres mares (In Between Three Seas), young Spanish flutist Ángel Pareja presents a series of five Spanish pieces composed by the most prominent figures of Spanish classical music in the 19th and 20th Century, pieces that let through the genuine essence of Spain. Such pieces, written originally for other instruments become fresh and special by being interpreted on the flute. For this special occasion Pareja will also include a new flute solo by Spanish young composer Lucas Falcao, student at the Royal Irish Academy of Music (RIAM) who has premiered successfully his compositions in venues such as the National Concert Hall in Dublin, among others.
Instituto Cervantes presents Ángel Pareja, a pupil at the RIAM in one of his last recitals in Dublin, with accompanist Dearbhla Brosnan, before continuing with his training career along Europe.
Ángel Pareja started his training in Málaga (Spain) and in 2015 decided to continue his studies at the Royal Irish Academy of Music, validated by Trinity College Dublin. He currently studies flute with one of the most relevant musicians in Ireland, William Dowdall, and piccolo with Patricia Morris, professor at the Royal Academy of Music of London. He has also completed his training through masterclasses with well-known flutists such as William Bennett, Sir James Galway, Magdalena Martínez, Joshua Batty, Vicens Prats and Lorna McGhee, among others.
