Nominated for seven Goyas and winner of the Panorama Audience Award at the Berlin Film Festival, Eva Libertad’s feature debut expands on the ideas she and her sister, deaf actress Miriam Garlo, explored in a previous short of the same name. Ángela (Garlo) is expecting a child with her hearing partner Héctor. They are aware that their daughter has a 50% chance of being deaf. Giving birth to Baby Ona was difficult but so is being the best mother she can in spite of all the challenges. Featuring an outstanding performance from Garlo, "Deaf" honestly portrays the complexities of being deaf in a hearing world.
