To celebrate the release of Andrés Neuman’s two latest titles to come out in English—Once Upon Argentina and Sensitive Anatomy—he will be in conversation with editor Chad W. Post to discuss the international nature of his life and works. As depicted in Once Upon Argentina, Neuman is a product of immigration and cultural blending, having been born in Argentina to a mother of French and Spanish descent and a father of Eastern European-Jewish descent, before relocating to Spain as a teenager. These crossings—literal and cultural—shape many aspects of his literary work, from the actual settings for his novels (Traveler of the Century takes place in Saxony and Prussia; Fracture primarily in Japan) to concepts of translation and the exchange of ideas and understanding.
