Dúo del Mar

Dúo del Mar Dúo del Mar

«Dúo del Mar» is the extraordinary musical union between two female figures in the current music scene: the classical guitarist Ekaterina Záytseva, outstanding teacher of her generation, and Marta Robles, one of the few female soloists in the world of flamenco guitar, as well as a composer and music producer.

Their repertoire mixes pure elements of flamenco and classical music, intertwining rhythms and harmonies to show all the expressive possibilities of the Spanish guitar. Baroque sonatas that were inspired by popular rhythms and melodies, romantic works that evoke modernist Barcelona, flamenco pieces from the most traditional repertoire or from contemporary and own creations where classical language is fused with flamenco.

They play with the subtlety of classical guitar and all its possible techniques, without giving up the strength and passion that flamenco brings them, recreating styles intertwined with pieces from the classic Spanish repertoire of Manuel de Falla, Isaac Albéniz and other great Spanish composers.

In 2019 they released their first album called «Dúo del Mar», with which they have already toured much of Spain and Europe. Their recent show «Ritmos de Sabicas», premiered at the «Flamenco On Fire» in Pamplona, has also brought them to important festivals such as the Lisbon Flamenco Festival, the Nights at the Reales Alcázares in Seville, the White Night in Córdoba or the Voll-Damm Jazz Festival of Barcelona.

Marta and Ekaterina, unique in their music and staging, represent a new image of Spanish culture far from the stereotypes, more consistent with the future than with the past, demonstrating the strength that women are achieving in the world of art and international music.
