The activity is part of the "Austral Letters" series, which will be inaugurated on the same day, November 19, by the Chilean Ambassador to Jordan, H.E. Mr. Jorge Tagle.
The event will include the presentation of the bilingual Spanish-Arabic edition of Poemas del alumbrado and the screening of the documentary Al fondo de todo esto duerme un caballo (At the bottom of all this sleeps a horse).
Synopsis: On the occasion of the poet's 90th birthday, Gonzalo Rojas travels through the different places that have marked his life and his poetry: from his native Lebu to Valparaíso, Concepción and the Recoleta neighborhood in Santiago. Each corner brings back memories of the past, of the first women in his life and his first poems, of his profession as a writer, of his diplomatic work and the horror of the military coup. A lucid and tireless poet, internationally recognized, but with the humility of a teacher who allows us to enter his world to leave a testimony of all he has learned.
