Cuando los ángeles cantan: An evening of Sephardic and New Mexican music, with Cantor Neil Manel Frau Cortes
Hazzan Neil Manel Frau-Cortes comes from the Xueta community in Mallorca. A scholar, musician, writer, and ritual leader, he holds a PhD in Medieval Hebrew literature (University of Girona); Master's, Library and Information Science (University of Maryland); Lic., Hebrew linguistics (Central University of Barcelona); MA, Cantorial studies and Jewish music (Gratz College); and ordination in hazzanut (Reconstructionist Rabbinical College). An alumnus of Mallorca's Conservatory and Taller de Musics (Barcelona), he focused on composition, classical and jazz piano.
