Muses
Néstor Caballero

An extraordinary encounter between two icons of Contemporary Art, Mexican painter Frida Kahlo and American poet Sylvia Plath, in which they share the most intimate and passionate moments of their lives.

MUSES imagines an encounter between Frida Kahlo and Sylvia Plath, two of the twentieth century’s most iconic artists. Separated by time, geography, and culture, both women challenged the expectations placed upon them and forged artistic voices that continue to resonate across generations. Through a visually striking and deeply sensory staging, MUSES explores art, identity, love, female freedom, and the cost of refusing to become who society expects them to be. MUSES invites audiences into an intimate confrontation with two artists whose questions still feel dangerously contemporary. A haunting theatrical experience that reclaims Frida Kahlo and Sylvia Plath as deeply human voices.
