This short film is part of the Short Shorts from Europe festival program—a selection of European short films curated by nine member countries of EUNIC (European Union National Institutes for Culture).
Synopsis: Lentils, if you want, eat them; if you don’t, leave them.
José A. Campos (1984) is a director and screenwriter that develops his professional career in Madrid working as a director, cameraman and editor in television and advertising agencies. His short films have been selected at international festivals, winning more than 100 awards. Lentejas was nominated for the Goya Award.
ATU Galway will present the short Piseog, by Peadar McNelis.
Synopsis: After disturbing a fairy tree in 1920s County Clare, Naoise is haunted by sinister visions. As his mother's faith in the old ways collides with his brother's cold refusal to believe, Naoise begins to wonder whether what is tearing his family apart was really awakened by a fairy tree, or by a grief they have never dared to name.
Huston School of Film & Digital Media, University of Galway will present the short Assistant, a comedy by Celeste Kassautzki.
Synopsis: Quinn, a desperate jobless graduate, trades her artistic identity for a soulless office job, hoping to finally make something of herself. When her sacrifices go unnoticed by her indifferent boss, she is forced to question if fitting in is worth the total erasure of her true self.
