Spanish at Queen's University, Belfast Centenary Celebrations

The centenary celebrations of Spanish studies at Queen’s University Belfast will take place on 17 and 18 September 2026. The programme includes a poetry reading by Luis García Montero, Director of the Instituto Cervantes, alongside Isabel Torres and Anne Holloway, as well as the launch of an exhibition celebrating 100 years of Spanish at Queen’s and the presentation of prizes for a photography competition. On Friday, there will be a series of talks and conversations with prominent writers and academics, including Juan Manuel Bonet, Ignacio Sánchez Prado, Claudia Masin and Elvira Lindo, in both English and Spanish. The celebrations will conclude with a reception and a gala dinner in The Great Hall.
