Flamenco dance workshop: Soleá with shawl
The Soleá is one of the most important and profound palos in Flamenco. Often referred to as the "mother" of Flamenco, it embodies strength, depth, elegance, and emotional expression.
In this workshop, we will work on a choreography based on Soleá while incorporating the beauty and versatility of the mantón (shawl). The mantón enhances the visual richness and expressive quality of the dance and becomes a valuable tool for developing awareness of posture, coordination, and upper-body movement.
Sandra Palomar is a professional flamenco dancer, choreographer and physical therapist that places particular emphasis on understanding the body in movement. Through a mindful and technically sound approach, students will learn how to use the upper body, arms, shoulders, and torso efficiently and expressively, allowing the mantón to become a natural extension of the dance.
